Subaru is well known for producing high-performance sedans. Drivers and enthusiasts of the marque from all over the world can now breathe a sigh of relief. The company has confirmed that the new generation BRZ is on the way. From what we have gathered, Ron Kinno, the spokesman for Subaru USA has confirmed that the company is moving forward with creating a next-generation Subaru BRZ. This is great news for Subaru fans and all drivers who enjoy driving a compact, powerful sports sedan. Here is more on what we know about the new car.
The new generation Subaru BRZ is expected to have a number of updates to its exterior appearance. The latest trend in the industry is having larger, darkened, low grilles. We are confident that the 2021 Subaru BRZ will have this type of grille.
As was hinted in the previous iterations of the model, there is a high likelihood that there is going to be a pair of air intake vents sandwiching the grille on the lower section of the front bumper. They balance out the front fascia and give the car a sporty appearance.
There are high chances that the new car will be equipped with slimmer headlights. As would be expected of this speedster, they are most definitely going to implement LED technology for illumination.
The new car is most likely going to be a 2 door coupe. There are high chances that it is going to have a sculpted hood, a swooping roofline, and a spoiler. The entire body is expected to be highly aerodynamic.
The taillights are also most likely going to have LED illumination technology as well. Seeing as minimalism is in vogue, they are bound to be slim and striking. Furthermore, we are confident that it will roll out of the factory with 20-inch wheels as standard. As always, drivers can customize them as they wish.
Interior redesign 2021 Subaru BRZ
The sporty design is expected to extend to the interior of the car. The new 2021 Subaru BRZ is quite likely to have a multifunctional, minimalist 3 spoke steering wheel. The standard telephone, air conditioning and navigation buttons are most likely going to be placed upon this section.
We are confident that the company will replace the regular analog dials with a digital instrument cluster. This means that the odometer, mileage, rev counter, and vehicle details section will be presented in digital clarity on a large LCD panel. This is so as to keep the new car in trend and boost driver interactivity.
The center stack is most likely going to have a large 8-inch touch screen display. Chances are high that it will be encircled by an array of tactile buttons to provide extra control over infotainment and many other in-car systems.
The new sedan is expected to have 2 seats on one row. Seeing as it is a premium automobile, we are confident that it will be upholstered in top quality materials such as soft leather or Alcantara. These are also likely to be available in multiple colors such as black, grey, red, blue and beige.
With the new BRZ, Subaru is looking to compete with world-beating sports cars. As such, we are excited and hopeful that drivers will have access to a collection of extras. Examples of these are carbon fiber accents, paddle gearbox system, an electronic panoramic roof, and contrast stitching.
Engine and specs
The engine is always the favorite part of any Subaru enthusiast. The previous BRZ model was powered by an FA20 engine. Also known as the 4U-GSE, this 2-liter powerplant churned out 205 horsepower at 7,000 rpm. It also released a thunderous 156 lb-ft of torque at between 6,400 and 6,600 rpm.
Subaru has since released a new engine christened the FA24. This 4 cylinder mill has a capacity of 2.4 liters. When turbocharged, this engine releases 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. We are confident that the new BRZ is quite likely going to have this engine under the hood.
Price, Availability & Release Date
We are fairly confident that the new 2021 Subaru BRZ will be launched in early 2021. Upon release, it is likely going to be available with multiple trims distinguished by performance. We can also expect that the base trim of this new car is going to retail for approximately $30,000.
