2020 Infiniti QX30 Specs, Interior, Sport, Price

Despite it’s been around for only four years, the QX30 is actually one of the oldest crossovers in the class. It may be one of the reasons for slow sales, but the fact is that this is still a pretty good subcompact SUV. Based on the previous-generation GLA, it offers a lot of good things, starting from an upscale interior, very good handling and driving dynamics, as well as a lot of style. Despite the age, we won’t see any notable update for the 2020 Infiniti QX30.

It looks like the company wants to replace the current model in the near future, so this could be one of the last year models of the current version. Therefore, things will remain pretty much the same. Count on the same design and engines, as well as on the interior design The 2020 Infiniti QX30 should hit the market sometime late in the year.

2020 Infiniti QX30 Redesign

In terms of base design characteristics, there are no secrets about this crossover. It came as a product of cooperation between Nissan and Mercedes-Benz. The German carmaker supplies pretty much complete mechanics, including the architecture and powertrain. On the other side, the Japanese manufacturer took care of the sheet metal and interior design. The final product looks pretty good. It rides on GLA’s platform, so it’s no wonder it offers pretty amazing handling and overall driving characteristics.

On the other side, the styling follows Infiniti’s current design language. Compared to most rivals, it doesn’t feature sharp edges straight lines, but rather curvy design solutions. Such an approach makes it a pretty rare bird in the segment, which is highly positive in this case. The upcoming 2020 Infiniti QX30 won’t feature any bigger change, though we won’t exclude the possibility to see a couple of new color options.

The cabin will also remain untouched. Generally, this isn’t a bad thing. The QX30 is characterized by a pretty stylish and upscale looking interior. The first thing you’ll notice is a pretty classy dashboard design, while all materials feature hi-end quality. Another great thing, typical for most vehicles from Nissan, is amazing front seats. They are massive, with excellent support, and also offer excellent ergonomics.

Those would be strong points of this cabin. On the other side, most complaints go to space and functionality. Rear seats aren’t generous in terms of leg and headroom, even for the standards of this segment. Another complaint goes to backward visibility, which is poor. On the other side, cargo capacity is kinda mixed bag. If we look at the space behind rear seats, things are pretty amazing. However, most rivals offer more volume when it comes to overall capacity.

Tech and Safety Features

When it comes to standard equipment, this crossover stands pretty good. All models come with things like 7-inch touch screen, satellite radio, HD Radio, a six-speaker stereo, two USB ports, and Bluetooth. Higher trims also add things like Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless device charging, a 10-speaker Bose stereo, navigation etc. The only drawback is that you can’t get smartphone integration features, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

When it comes to safety, base models come with a decent list of advanced systems, which includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and a rearview camera. Higher trims offer more. There are goodies like blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view camera, automatic high beams, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and many more. Some of these optional features could easily become standard in the next year.

2020 Infiniti QX30 Engines

Along with the platform, the QX30 also borrows engines from the German carmaker. There is a well-known 2.0-liter turbo-four unit, which delivers around 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Such amount of power and torque guarantees pretty solid driving dynamics and there is really no room for complaints here.

Moreover, you can also count on pretty amazing fuel economy ratings, which go around 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The top-level 2020 Infiniti QX30 Sport will also feature this engine, though it comes with numerous upgrades, including new suspension setup. Moreover, there are some unique styling details, as well as a full load of standard equipment.

Outside North America, this crossover is also available in a diesel version. Once again, the engine comes from Mercedes-Benz. It is a familiar 2.2-liter turbodiesel, which is good for about 170 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Performances are pretty good, while mpg ratings are excellent.

Both engines come with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

2020 Infiniti QX30 Release Date and Price

Given the lack of changes, the 2020 Infiniti QX30 release date will be scheduled for a typical time of a year, for the last quarter of 2019. The price should remain pretty much the same, which would mean around 30.000 dollars.
