2020 Ford Bronco Specs, Engines, Interior, Price, Release Date

The Bronco is definitely one of the most anticipated models for the near future. The famous nameplate has been out of use for decades but it is still one of the most beloved Ford models. After the discontinuation, the company tried with a couple of concept version, but these never entered serial production. Therefore, we have big expectations from the 2020 Ford Bronco. From what we know so far, it will be a genuine SUV, with a body-on-frame platform and rugged body, which will compete with Jeep Wrangler.

Moreover, the latest reports are suggesting several more interesting thing about the new Bronco. It looks like this is going to be Ford’s sub-brand, with a nice range of similarly-looking models. In any case, we are eagerly waiting to see the new model, which should be a real refreshment in today’s market, which is overflowed with fancy-looking crossovers.

2020 Ford Bronco Design

In terms of base design characteristics, we know for sure that the new 2020 Ford Bronco will be a genuine body-on-frame SUV. However, we still don’t know which platform Ford is going to use. Considering the expected size, the new model should share a lot of parts with the Ranger pickup and its SUV sibling Everest. However, some reports suggest a completely new platform, which will in the future be enlarged and used for the next-generation F-150. This would definitely mean a complete switch to an aluminum body.

If we consider that the Wrangler already comes in such a manner, we have no doubt that the latter scenario sounds more likely. More details should be known in the future, once we see a testing model.

One of the most interesting things about the 2020 Ford Bronco will be its styling. This model will come with distinctive aesthetics, without many similarities with the rest of the lineup. We can’t talk about details at the front end, but we have no doubt that the new model will feature a pretty boxy appearance.

The company already showed a teaser photo and, despite that the vehicle is completely covered, we can clearly see its boxy shape. Also, most reports are suggesting two body styles in the offer. Most likely, a two-door version will come first, while the larger, four-door model is expected to arrive soon after. In any case, this model will look very exciting.

We presume that the same aesthetical approach will be implemented in the cabin as well. That would mean a pretty rugged cabin layout, with a simple dashboard and pretty straightforward controls. As we already mentioned, two body styles are expected to be offered. The four-door version will be more generous in terms of space, both in terms of legroom and cargo capacity. Finally, count on a full load of tech goodies and other features.

2020 Ford Bronco Engines

This aspect of the 2020 Ford Bronco still offers a lot of room for speculations. Still, we have no doubt that the new SUV will rely on the company’s familiar EcoBoost units. Base models are expected to feature four cylinders. That should be a 2.3-liter engine, which delivers around 310 horsepower. Higher trims will probably come with a 2.7-liter V6, which comes in several output variants, starting from 325 hp. Finally, we could see some hi-performance version in the offer. If this happens, there is a big chance to see a new 3.0-liter V6 under the hood as well.

That won’t be all. Various reports suggest an oil-burner as well. At this point, we are still waiting to hear something from the officials, but this version definitely makes sense. We count on a familiar 2.0-liter turbodiesel, which is good for about 210 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque.

New sub-brand?

If we can rely on the latest reports, it looks like the 2020 Ford Bronco won’t be the only novelty about this nameplate. Allegedly, the company plans to establish a whole new line of Bronco models. Besides this body-on-frame SUV, we are about to see a compact crossover as well. Currently, this model is codenamed baby-Bronco. That won’t be all, as we are also about to see a new unibody pickup under this name. All three models will be characterized by the same aesthetical approach, characterized by boxy shape and pretty rugged nature. More details about these two, additional Bronco models will be known in the near future.

2020 Ford Bronco Release Date and Price

The new Bronce is still in an early stage of development, so we can’t talk about anything specific. Most reports suggest that the new model would probably arrive some time in the next year. When it comes to the price, some rough estimations for base versions go around 30.000 dollars. As we already mentioned, the Jeep Wrangle will be a direct rival, but don’t forget the capable Toyota 4Runner either.
